Фізичне виховання Ñ– спорт у міських школах – це один з пріоритетних напрямків діяльності управління освіти Чернівецької міської ради, адже це пов’язано із здоров’ям підростаючого покоління, а отже Ñ– зі здоров’ям нації!

Управління освіти Чернівецької міської ради регулярно проводить міську спартакіаду школярів та інші спортивні заходи серед учнів міських шкіл. Чимала увага приділяється і пропаганді фізичної культури і спорту та здорового способу життя серед чернівецьких школярів. Останнім часом регулярними стали «Олімпійські уроки» за участю титулованих спортсменів. У співпраці з бізнесовими структурами запроваджено спеціальні програми, у рамках яких школярі мають можливість отримати безкоштовні уроки катання на лижах (на базі у с. Горбово Герцаївського району), катання на ковзанах (у чернівецькому «Льодовому майданчику»), гри у боулінг тощо.

За фізичну культуру і спорт у чернівецьких школах в управлінні освіти Чернівецької міської ради відповідає відмінник освіти України, почесний працівник фізичної культури і спорту України Володимир Васильович Цуркан.
