Єдиним серед буковинців призером Чемпіонату України з велоспорту маунтенбайк (крос-кантрі) 2013 р. в Сумах став чернівчанин Денис Громко.

 

Юніори розігрували нагороди в олімпійській номінації крос-кантрі першого дня змагань. Денис Громко, попри 121013-Ukr-cup-Chernivtsi-GromkoDenys-sportbuk.comнаявність більш титулованих суперників, націлювався на перше місце. Але лідери юніорської збірної України, можна сказати, «грали командою» проти буковинця. Проте, як зазначив наставник нашого земляка – заслужений тренер України Ілля Руссу («Колос», ШВСМ), Денис не з тих, хто здається: «Він у нас ще той боєць! Денис вибрав місце, де траса була ширшою, і пішов атакувати. Суперники, звісно, його притиснули, він пішов «по кущах», попадали, звичайно… Але, втративши час, Денис не виключився з боротьби і виборов срібну нагороду. Фінішував потужно, відчувалось, що ще резерви були, але гонка вже закінчилась (сміється – авт.)».

У дорослій гонці крос-кантрі Буковину представляли Дмитро Гунда, Максим Горевич, Сергій Гоменюк та Олена Попович. Проте у боротьбу за нагороди нікому втрутитися не вдалося.

Наступне випробування – багатоденний чемпіонат України, який гостюватиме 8-12 серня 2013 р. у Чернівцях. У рамках багатоденки розіграють і нагороди Чемпіонату України з гонки вгору, де, на думку Іллі Руссу, буковинці теж можуть претендувати на високі позиції. Ця гонка відбудеться третього дня змагань на Цецино – з фінішем в районі комплексу «Орлине гніздо».
