У півфінальному забігу на 800 м на Олімпіаді в Лондоні 9.08.12 новоселицька чернівчанка Наталка Лупу буде змагатися з чинною олімпійською чемпіонкою Памелою Джелімо (Кенія).

На Чемпіонаті світу в приміщенні 2012 р., нагадаємо, Наталія Лупу фінішувала у фіналі другою після Джелімо.

Крім кенійки, вищий особистий рекорд, ніж наша землячка, має росіянка Єкатерина Поістогова (1.57,93). Близьким до кращого результату Наталки Лупу (Чернівці/Новоселицький район, ЦОП, ДШВСМ, СК «Гешко», «Динамо», «Колос», офіційний партнер – готель «Буковина», тренери – Анатолій Якимчук, Володимир Степанов) є і особистий рекорд американки Аліси Шмідт (1.58,61). Незручним є те, що у двох наступних забігах півфіналістки матимуть більше шансів пробитися до фіналу за кращим часом, оскільки знатимуть вже результати попереднього забігу.
