Двоє представників Буковини здобули нагороди на 26-му Міжнародному турнірі з боксу в Кузнецовську Рівненської області, присвяченому пам’яті Героя СРСР М. Кузнецова. Іван Страшний з Шипинців Кіцманського району переміг у категорії до 52 кг, а чернівчанин Станіслав Дєдов став срібним призером у категорії понаж 91 кг.

Іван Страшний, який тренуються під керівництвом Андрія Грудея та Івана Собка, на шляху до фіналу переміг майстра спорту і призера юніорського Чемпіонату Європи з Білорусі, а у фіналі вже у першому раунді тричі відправив суперника в нокдаун. Таким чином, Іван здобув перше місце і виконав норматив майстра спорту.

У суперважкій категорії Стас Дєдов (ДЮСШ №1, Геннадій Соловйов) дійшов до фіналу, де судді віддали перемогу представнику Льввівської області. Хоча багато хто вважав, що Стас більше заслуговував на перше місце.

У категорії до 75 кг Олексій Самоєд («Машзавод-Колізей», ДЮСШ «Авангард», Іван Собко) програв у чвертьфіналі і посів 5 місце.

У звітному турнірі взяли участь близько 100 боксерів з Білорусі, Молдови, Росії та України.

Сьогодні, 11.07.11, у Грозному (Чеченська республіка) стартував Чемпіонат Європи з боксу серед школярів (вік – 13-14 років), де у складі збірної України виступає і Степан Грекул з Шипинців. За попередніми даними, у цих змаганнях беруть участь 155 спортсменів з 16 країн Старого Світу.
