Народного депутата України Миколу Романюка обрали почесним президентом Чернівецької обласної федерації боксу.

Його кандидатура отримала одностайну підтримку на засіданні виконкому Чернівецького обласного осередку Федерації боксу України у п’ятницю, 25.02.2011 р. У роботі виконкому взяли участь президент крайової федерації боксу Віталій Бєляєв, голова обласної колегії суддів Сергій Іванов, голова тренерської ради Іван Собко, секретар федерації Шаміль Мантов та член виконкому Олександр Кламбоцький.

Микола Романюк (5.06.52) у 2010 р., після призначення ряду нардепів-однопартійців на керівні посади, вдруге став народним депутатом України (за списком Партії регіонів). Нині є заступником голови Комітету Верховної Ради України з питань паливно-енергетичного комплексу, ядерної політики та ядерної безпеки, членом Української частини міжпарламентської асамблеї Верховної Ради України та Сейму Литовської Республіки і членом групи з міжпарламентських зв’язків з Республікою Корея.

Микола Прокопович вже не один рік патронує обласну федерацію боксу. Він, за словами Віталія Бєляєва, суттєво підтримує буковинський бокс, як і найактивніші партнери федерації – готель «Буковина», ТОВ «Машзавод» та інші.

Сам новообраний почесний президент обласної федерації на згадане засідання виконкому не зміг завітати, оскільки перебував у депутатських справах за кордоном. Але дав згоду обійняти цю почесну громадську посаду. І запевнив, що й надалі робитими все від нього залежне, аби бокс на Буковині ставав дедалі популярнішим і успішнішим.
