Відкриттям сезону в українському пауерліфтингу називають чернівчанина Михайла Штефюка (06.04.91). Вихованець тренера ДЮСШ міськспортуправління і ФСТ «Спартак» Ігоря Ясенецького «засвітився» на національній арені раніше, але цього року блиснув декількома чудовими виступами.

Зокрема, виборов «срібло» на юніорському Чемпіонаті Європи у категорії до 52 кг. А днями студент політехнічного технікуму виграв дорослий Кубок України вже у категорії до 56 кг. І, принагідно, виконав норматив майстра спорту. Цікаво, що переможний результат 19-річного Штефюка – 510 кг – ще донедавна був дуже близьким до нормативу майстра спорту міжнародного класу (наставник Михайла – Ігор Ясенецький став «міжнародником», коли норматив становив 520 кг, але тепер планку піднято до 565 кг).

На Кубку України Михайло Штефюк випередив другого призера Богдана Вакарєва з Харкова на 20 кг. Офіційним партнером здібного чернівчанина є дистрибуційна компанія «Рома» (Роман Клічук).

У категорії до 125 кг Максим Латковський (теж вихованець Ігоря Ясенецького) зупинився за крок до п’єдесталу пошани з результатом 782,5 кг. У бронзового призера Павла Краснова (Львів) – 817,5 кг.

Командою буковинці посіли високе 6 місце серед 22 територій. Попереду Луганська область, Київ, Донецька, Харківська і Запорізька області.
