Чемпіон Європи з боксу серед професіоналів у суперважкій ваговій категорії Олександр Димитренко змінив українське громадянство на німецьке. Про це повідомила його промоутерська компанія «Universum».

Сам боксер так прокоментував цю подію: «Тільки той, хто щось змінює в своєму житті, має шанси на успіх. Я довго розмірковував над цим рішенням, перш ніж прийняти його. Бути німцем Ñ– прикладом для молоді – велика честь для мене. я веду німецький спосіб життя Ñ– люблю Німеччину.

Сенатор, який вручив Димитренкові документ про присвоєння статусу громадянина Німеччини, закликав боксера й надалі подавати молоді приклад успішної інтеграції.

Вже 4 грудня 2010 р. Димитренко вперше вийде на ринг під німецьким прапором. Він захищатиме титул чемпіона Європи у поєдинку проти Альберта Сосновські з Польщі, повідомляє sport.rbc.ua.

Олександр народився в Криму, але останні дев’ять років живе у Гамбурзі.

Він захопився боксом у віці 14 років. Вісімнадцятирічним боксером виграв (2000) чемпіонат світу з боксу серед юніорів. Після його перемоги німецький промоутер Клаус-Пітер Коль відразу запропонував йому контракт. Димитренко підписав угоду з компанією Коля Ñ– емігрував до Гамбурга, щоби розпочати свою професійну кар’єру. Там він тренується під керівництвом братів Кличків Ñ– тренера Фріца Здунека.
