Уперше в історії вітчизняного тенісу чемпіоном України серед дорослих став буковинець. Цей історичний успіх у Львові відсвяткував 17-річний Юрій Джавакян – до речі, син колишнього гравця команди вищої ліги СРСР з хокею на траві «Університет» (Чернівці) Самвела Джавакяна.

На шляху до тріумфу на Чемпіонаті України у Львові Юрій Джавакян переміг в 1/16 фіналу Ігоря Чорного (Харків) – 6:2, 6:0, в 1/8 фіналу – Василя Єгорова (Ужгород, 7 сіяний) – 6:3, 6:3, у чвертьфіналі – Пилипа Кекерчені (с. Разумовка) – 6:3, 2:6, 6:3, у півфіналі – Олега Долгошеєва (Северодонецьк, 5 сіяний) – 2:6, 6:1, 6:2 і у фіналі – Дмитра Мазура (Київ) – 7:5, 7:5.

Юрія тренують Станіслав Сутяга та Леонід Мельник. Розпочинав тренуватися Юрій в 9 років в обласній ДЮСШ під керівництвом Наталії Вілігорської. А з 12 р. він перейшов на систему спаринг-тренувань. Перед успішним сезоном-2010 Джавакян майже два роки мало тренувався і не їздив на змагання взагалі, бо не було фінансових можливостей. Офіційний спонсор зірочки буковинського тенісу – Олег Гермак.

    Офіційний спонсор зірочки буковинського тенісу – Олег Гермак. Специалист по “договорнякам” и “разводнякам”.
    Сам факт спонсортства Олега Гермака ставит по сомнение успехи Джавакяна.
    Наверное скоро зірочка буковинського тенісу будет не рад такому спонсору, а сам спонсор поменяет род занятий.
