Чотири золоті і одну срібну нагороди здобули представники Буковини на Чемпіонаті Європи з панкратіону, який відбувся у Брюсселі (Бельгія).

У складі збірної України було 27 спортсменів, серед яких троє представників Чернівецької області, які блискавично виступили Ñ– вибороли дві золоті Ñ– одну срібну нагороду: Олександр Доскальчук – 62 кг – І м (тренер – Петро Горюк), Анна Беженар – 53 кг – І м (тренер – Ігор Наконечний), Юрій Чіжевський – 92 кг – ІІ м (тренер – Ігор Наконечний).

В розділі ММА українцям підкорились тільки три золоті нагороди, серед яких дві здобули  чернівецькі спортсмени. І це не було несподіванкою, тому що Анна Беженар та Олександр Доскальчук вже давно є лідерами збірної України і одними з кращих в Європі. А за підсумками попереднього року в світовому рейтингу стали кращими спортсменами, за що на цьому Чемпіонаті Європи отримали орден від Мартинетті (Президент Всесвітньої федерації боротьби FILA).

У цьому Чемпіонаті бради участь більше 20 збірних країн.

Наші спортсмени є представниками ФСТ «Україна». Підготовка та участь у змаганнях здійснювалась за підтримки управління у справах сім’ї, молоді та спорту ОДА (Олександр Довганчи) і генерального спонсора – фірми «РОМА» (Роман Клічук).

Чемпіонат Європи відбувся 28-30.06.12.
