Найвищий результат серед учасників зимового Чемпіонату області з пауерліфтингу, який відбувся у спортивному залі медуніверситету, показав чернівчанин Дмитро Смандич (27.07.90) у категорії до 93 кг. Вихованець тренера ДЮСШ міськспоруправління Юрія Чурікова перевищив норматив майстра спорту міжнародного класу і встановив рекорди області у присіданні (355 кг), становій тязі (317,5 кг) та за сумою триборства (900 кг). У жимі лежачи Дмитро показав результат 227,5 кг, що на 5 кг менше рекорду області.

Норматив майстра спорту перевищили ще декілька переможців в окремих категоріях – Олександр Слюсар (до 105 кг, Чернівці, тренер – Ігор Ясенецький), Віктор Боднар (до 120 кг, Чернівці, Володимир Крушельнийький) та Інна Трофіменкова (до 52 кг, Чернівці, Валерій Курилюк).

У жимі лежачи відзначився Вадим Середа (02.04.75), який у категорії до 105 кг показав результат вище нормативу майстра спорту міжнародного класу – 280 кг. Цей результат вихованця Юрія Циби і Едуарда Халчевського є новим рекордом області.

Названий вище результат Дмитра Смандича у категорії до 93 кг (227,5 кг) відповідає нормативу майстра спорту і лише трішки не дотягує до рекорду області.
