Майстер спорту з легкої атлетики.

Народився 20 листопада 1959 року в селі Ростоки Путильського району. Закінчив місцеву СШ, СПТУ №5, Чернівецький торговельно-економічний інститут КДТЕУ та вищі курси БХСС у Харкові.

Професійно легкою атлетикою почав займатися у 1976 році під керівництвом Івана Воронича. Пізніше тренувався також у заслуженого тренера України Дениса Тищука.

Уперше на національній арені заявив про себе у 1977 році – перемогою на юніорській першості УРСР з кросу (5 км). Через рік переміг серед юніорів на Всесоюзному кросі на призи газети “Правда” і вирушив у складі збірної СРСР на юніорський чемпіонат світу до Шотландії, де фінішував п’ятим. У 1980 році на матчі молодіжних збірних України та Румунії у Бухаресті виграв стіпль-чез (3000 м з/п) та був другим на дистанції 5000 м. У 1982 та 1984 роках виборював Кубок України на дистанції 10000 м. Будучи юніором, посів третє місце на чемпіонаті Збройних сил СРСР з кросу.

Встановив поважні рекорди області на дистанціях 5000 м (13.50,94, Подольськ Московської області, 1982 р.), 10000 м (28.48,2, Харків), 30 км (1:32,58, Москва, пробіг на призи газети “Труд”).

Уже працюючи у правоохоронних органах, у 1988 році був другим на чемпіонаті України з кросу в Євпаторії (12 км).

Працював завучем ДЮСШ “Спартак”. З 1987 по 1997 рр. – співробітник БХСС (тепер – державна служба боротьби з економічною злочинністю), дослужився до майора. Тепер – у відділі боротьби з корупцією в органах державної податкової служби ДПА у Чернівецькій області, підполковник податкової міліції (з 2008 р. – «Укртелеком»).
